We finally did it!!!!!

After we started dating, one of the first topics we discussed was getting out of California. We talked about so many states to move to and Ryan did all kinds of research on each one.
At the beginning of this year, when we were living in our cute apartment (our favorite apartment we had in California) Ryan and I sat down and decided we had to have a plan. We just knew things with California were not good and were not going to get better any time soon. It was in between two states. Oregon and Colorado. I hate the heat with a passion so that was one of the factors in it, we also didn't want a super cold winter like we would have in Chicago. Chicago was high on our list for a while too. Oregon and Colorado seemed like states we could live in. After much comparison on the two, I really decided that I could not live in Oregon. See my brother is serving a Mormon Mission in Oregon. We are super close. I decided if things got tough for him, I didn't want him to have an escape, I wanted him to fight through what he decided he wanted to do. We booked the flight to Denver, CO right there and then. We flew out there as Ryan and I had lined up some job interviews before we went out and landed in Denver. The first little bit was very annoying. We were both really hungry and really tired but we got our stuff and got on the shuttle. We arrived at the car rental and we will never go through them again!!! It was really hot inside the place, the line was really long. All we wanted to do was get our car, go get food and get to our hotel, maybe rest a bit and then hit the town!!! The guy at the desk wanted to know everything about why Ryan was in Denver, what he did for a living, why he wanted to move here, etc. The line was so long and it was so hot and we were so hungry we were wondering why he was taking his sweet time asking these questions!!! Just do your job. Well we got our car and decided even though we were cranky, we would get over it and enjoy Colorado. We went to go get food of course at Sonics. That is like our favorite fast food. They had construction so it took forever to get to our hotel but it was fine because we were somewhere new so there was lots to see.
Over the next couple days we drove around to find where we were going to live. As we drove from Denver on the 36 towards Boulder, we drove through Westminster. I don't know what it was about the place, but it just felt like home. We stopped and looked at some places.
We did not want to go home at all because it was beautiful and the people were so nice and down to earth. It was for sure not California.
So we did it!! Ryan got offered one of the jobs and we were back out here before we knew it! The hardest part about the whole thing was my Friday night movie night/sleep over with my Sib's was no longer. I no longer got to spend Friday nights laughing with Matthew, Andrew, and Lauren. I no longer had Matt and Daniel come over and play cards and drink or whatever we would do. I would no longer wake up and make Lauren breakfast and hang out with her all day Saturday until my dad would come over and take her away from me. I would no longer get a call from Ryan saying he would be working late or doing other things that night and I would have dinner alone so I would call Lauren and we would go to the store and get food and cook together. Those moments really meant so much to me. This is life though and Ryan and I had to do whats best for ourselves.
It sure is beautiful here. I wish my Sib's would move here!!! Things have been hard here and there, that's life and I honestly wish we would have done the move sooner. We are so blessed to be here. I was laughing a few weeks ago when Ryan ripped his zipper apart so I fixed it. I didn't have my sewing machine then, so I was sewing it by hand and listening to Country. I was amazed at where I am now. The thing is though, is we are so much happier here and that's whats important. We hope to have a house soon and be married, but right now we are just learning to manage stress together and not lose our heads!!!!
Thank you God for bringing us to this great place!!!!!
